Robert Pollard - Love Is Stronger Than Witchcraft Video

Wow, this came out of nowhere. Never knew of this videos existence until a few minutes ago. The clip was apparently shot in the days leading up to the final Guided By Voices show in Chicago on December 31st, 2004 (and is also the source for the Meet The King: Asshole 2 album cover). Bob and his wife Sarah are shown cavorting around his house, driving around town, at a pizza place (Marion's? Hoagie's?), writing up the setlist for the final show and behind the scenes footage shot from the edge of the Metro stage. Great video for a classic tune (off of 2006's From A Compound Eye)...

Wow! Didn't know about this video either! Great video.. felt a little voyeuristic watching it. One of my favorite songs from Bob's Merge records.

I felt a bit uncomfortable watching it too- wonder whether its personal nature has anything to do with it being buried for so long. Remember reading something about the footage, that it was part of an aborted documentary or something. Will report back with more info once I find it...

Coincidentally, I saw it right after it was put up online. At first I thought, oh no---did a home video escape into the wild, here? Then I realized who had filmed it and everything was all right. :) I like the part where Greer puts the red gel in front of the lens. Artsy, lo-fi fx!

I remember briefly seeing this when it was first posted; fabulous footage.

It's got a weird intensity to it, like the final footage of someone before they died. That sounded darker than intended.

great video - plays a bit like Watch me Jumpstart, part 2. It's supposed creator "Fiat Lux" is a bit of a giveaway, read Jim Greer's "Artificial Light" (very interesting and probably a bit underrated book IMO)
